When a baby is born, it takes a lot to adjust to lifestyle changes. Once your body is recovered it shouldn't stop you from pursuing your fitness goals! As a breastfeeding mother, you will enjoy many benefits of workouts like losing pregnancy weight and gaining physical strength and mental well-being. Regular exercise when paired with a healthy balanced diet can help you lose fat and reduce stress without lowering your milk supply. Losing weight while breastfeeding is safe as long as you maintain a nutritious and balanced diet.

Few points to consider when you plan to get into a fitness routine:

1. Avoid losing weight drastically by following any crash or fad diet. A diet rich in calories and nutrients will surely help you lose weight healthily. 2. Start with a walk along with your kid. It will help you get some fresh air and release a hormone called serotonin, promoting positive feelings and reducing stress. Fresh air is good for both mother and baby. 3. Remember you need to consume 350-400 calories extra above your daily calories for your baby. 4. Drink lots of water. Hydration is very important for a breastfeeding mother. Drink water before, during, and after workouts. 5. Consider getting a supportive, high-impact bra, and do not forget to take it off once the workout is done to avoid discomfort. 6. Try pumping or breastfeeding before a workout so that it is comfortable while workout. 7. Progressing gradually is the key. Listen to your body and stop when needed. Healthy mothers = Healthy babies. So go for it!!!
